(“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information in connection with our various insurance-related services and offerings (“services”) and when you access or use our website and online platform, the services provided through our online platform (including through APIs we make available to access the platform), or any other website or services that link to this Privacy Notice, or when you otherwise communicate with us. This Privacy Notice also tells you about your rights and choices with respect to your personal information, and how you can reach us to get answers to your questions.
When we receive or process information for our own purposes, such as contact or billing information of parties directly using our services (“customers”), this Privacy Notice applies. When we receive or process information on behalf of our customers, such as contact or background information of renters or drivers of our customers and individuals applying to become renters or drivers (“clients”), the privacy practices that apply to the processing of that information are governed by our customer’s Privacy Notice.
Our online platform often involves the collection of personal information from clients of our customers’ vehicles. The clients of our customers (as well as individuals applying to become renters and drivers) are not our customers. We refer to information received by our customers from their renters and drivers as “driver information.”
- What Personal Information We Collect & How We Use It
- The types of personal information we obtain about you depends on how you interact with us. The following provides examples of the types of information that we may collect from you for our purposes and how we use that information.
- In addition to the information that we collect from you directly, we may also receive information about you from other sources, including third parties, business partners, our affiliates, or publicly available sources.
Although the sections above describe our primary purpose in collecting your information, in many situations we have more than one purpose. As a result, our collection and processing of your information is based in different contexts upon your consent, our need to perform a contract, our obligations under law, and/or our general interest in conducting our business.
- Types of Information We Collect About Drivers on Behalf of Our Customers
- We limit the collection of personal and public information of drivers of our customers to what is required to accomplish our services. As a service provider and data processor serving at the instruction of our customers, we process the following types of personal information about the drivers of our customers through our online platform, including but not limited to:
- Basic identifying information, such as name, address, telephone number, current employer, email address, and other personal information.
- Information relating to:
- Identity checks consisting of address, name, phone, and email
- Background checks consisting of criminal and credit violations
- Consistent monitoring of motor vehicle records, US DOT CSA scores, and backgrounds checks
- Overall compliance with state and federal Motor Carrier regulations, such as Hours of Service, Driving Logs, and Driver Fitness consisting of Medical History
- Historical financial checks consisting of fraud check and violations
- Vehicle and/or asset information for insurance performance history
- Driver geolocation data for insurance claim resolution
- We may collect information about clients’ interaction with our online platform such as computer browser type, pages visited, Internet and network activity, average time spent on our website and platform, IP address, unique identifier of the device, and operating system version.
- We may request or receive other personal information such as feedback, questions, comments, suggestions, or ideas from clients to provide customers with other benefits or to improve upon the services. In such instances, clients are given the opportunity to provide or decline that information.
- We obtain the categories of information identified above directly from our customers, from clients of our customers, from drivers of our customers, from third party sources and from publicly available government records. We also collect information regarding vehicle history, driving records, company history, and insurance claim records from third-party sources and use that to provide our services. These parties have their own privacy and information collection practices and security measures.
- How We Disclose Your Personal Information
We disclose the following categories of personal information for business or commercial purposes to the categories of recipients listed below. Please note that because this list is comprehensive it may refer to types of information that we disclose about people other than yourself.
- We share Identifying Information such as name and contact information with third parties that help administer, manage and analyze our programs and services, provide marketing and data analytics services, and payment processors, financial institutions, and others as needed to complete transactions and for authentication, security, and fraud prevention.

Our website and platform may feature plugins, widgets, or and other tools made available by third parties that may result in information being collected or shared between us and the third-party. Their use of your information is not governed by this Privacy Notice.

We use first-party cookies and other similar technologies to ensure everyone who uses our website and platform has the best possible experience. We also use them for marketing and advertising.

They also help us provide aggregated auditing, research, and reporting for our advertisers and to understand and improve our products and services. - Access to Your Personal Information. If you are a California residents and would like more information concerning the categories of personal information (if any) we disclose with third parties or affiliates for those parties to use for direct marketing please submit a written request to us using the information in the “Contact Information” section below.
- Online Tracking. We do not currently recognize automated browser signals regarding tracking mechanisms, which may include “Do Not Track” instructions.
- Promotional Emails. We send free newsletters, surveys, offers, and other promotional materials to you, as well as occasional targeted offers from third parties. You are automatically subscribed to these emails when you make a purchase or account with us. You can stop receiving promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in e-mails that you receive. If you decide not to receive promotional emails, we may still send you service related communications.
- Ground Mailings. If at any time you do not want to receive offers and/or circulars from us you can remove yourself from our mailing lists by emailing us (our contact information is below) with “NO GROUND MAIL” in the subject line along with your name, and address. Please note that our mailings are prepared in advance of their being sent. Although we will remove your name from our mailing list after receiving your request, you may still receive mailings from us that had been initiated prior to your name being removed.
